WELCOME
Cardiff Bach Choir is a mixed voice choir of about 65 members who share a love of choral singing.
Based in the City of Cardiff (Wales, UK), we perform in venues around the city, most frequently at Llandaff Cathedral, and occasionally in the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) and at
BBC Hoddinott Hall (Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay).
The choir usually performs two full concerts per year, in January and May/June, and run a popular Come and Sing event in October/November. We focus on performing both the classics by the great choral composers, with J. S. Bach naturally being a regular for us, mixed with more modern favourites by the likes of Rutter, Chilcott and Goodall. We strive always to strike the right balance between old and new.

CHOIR NEWS
It was with great sadness that Cardiff Bach Choir learned of the passing of our President and former member Dr Haydn Jones OBE. Haydn contributed so much to the choir over the years and decades, and we were proud to have him as our President. A Service of Thanksgiving for his life was held on Monday 21st July 2025, at St Peter's Church, Dinas Powys. Members of Cardiff Bach Choir were honoured to perform Sir John Rutter's The Lord Bless You and Keep You which Haydn had requested to be sung by us a few weeks before he passed away. |
WE ARE RECRUITING!
Do you love choral music? Would you like to join a friendly and supportive choir singing both the classics and new and inspiring pieces? We welcome all new applications for membership of the choir, and currently are recruiting new tenors and basses. The choir meets weekly during term-time on Tuesday evenings in Llanishen. An ability to sight read musical scores is advisable. For more information please check our 'Joining' page above, and fill in the form under 'Contact Us' or email via [email protected]. |
