The Choir's repertoire is wide ranging but, as its name suggests, includes the works of J.S.Bach and his contemporaries.  The choir was formed in 1962 by Clifford Bunford.  During its many successful seasons the Choir has performed most of Bach's Cantatas.

The choir has close connections with Cardiff University and is pleased to give young artists from the University, and elsewhere, a chance to perform as soloists.

We play an important part in the amateur choral scene in Cardiff where we have performed jointly with other local amateur choirs in performances of

  • Carl Orff's Carmina Burana;
  • Verdi's Requiem;
  • Vaughan-Williams's Sea Symphony;
  • Haydn's Creation
and in the first performance in St David's Hall, Cardiff of
  • Britten's War Requiem
under Mr Bunford's direction. Other performances by the choir at St David's Hall have included
  • Mozart's Requiem,
  • Mozart's Mass in C Minor,
  • J.S. Bach's B Minor Mass,
  • Mendelssohn's Elijah and
  • Berlioz's Requiem.
We acknowledge the support over many years of the Welsh Amateur Music Federation .
