Sally Tarlton

Sally studied the piano and ‘cello at the Royal College of Music. She then took a post graduate repetiteurs’ course at The London Opera centre. She worked in London for many years as an accompanist and coach and played for several opera groups and large choral societies, as well as regularly accompanying singing master classes and playing harpsichord continuo parts for many different choral societies.
She was a founder member of the Helios Orchestra in London and appeared as piano and harpsichord soloist with them several times including concerts at the Purcell Room on the South bank.
She has also performed piano concertos with the Dinas Powys Orchestra including the Triple Concerto by Beethoven two years ago.
She has lived in Llantwit Major for the last eleven years and accompanies a variety of singers, as well as performing chamber music with her husband and professional colleagues. Her husband is a principal violinist with the orchestra of Welsh National Opera and they give recitals together when time permits! They have played at Brecon Cathedral several times in recent years and regularly play in north Norfolk and north Wales
Sally was accompanist for the Cowbridge Amateur Operatic Society for nine years and was Musical director for their performance of Yeoman of the Guard in 2003.
She is now accompanist for the 90 strong Cardiff Bach Choir and regularly plays for concerts for Music in Hospitals. She also teaches the piano at Llandaff Cathedral School and has a private teaching practice.
