On March 18th 2006, the Choir visited

St.Matthew's Church, Cainscross, Stroud ,

in support of a series of varied music events to be held there.

The Choir performed a number of works written at the time

of Bach to the present day , including

Cantata No.80 "A stronghold sure", by J.S.Bach

3 part songs by Franz Schubert

3 Tudor anthems by Thomas Weelkes, Thomas Tomkins and Christopher Tye

4 sacred songs including "Ave verum" by Mozart and

"Sing Aloud with a voice of thanksgiving" by the choir's conductor, Tim Taylor .

"Te Deum" by Haydn

and 6 well known choruses from

"The Messiah" by Handel

This was the first 'away concert' for the choir for a number of years and all members enjoyed

the experience. We thank our hosts for their hospitality and expressions of

enjoyment of our performance.
